General Information: The Dale Bumpers Marching Invitational is held at Tiger Stadium in Charleston, Arkansas. Charleston High School is a 3A high school just 20 miles southeast of Fort Smith. Tiger Stadium has a well-maintained artificial turf field and ample parking and seating for spectators.

 

Arkansas and Oklahoma bands of all sizes are welcome. There is a junior high division and a championship division, which includes all high school bands, regardless of classification. Bands perform in order of classification and are scheduled by a random draw within each classification.

Judging and Scoring: There are separate judges for Music (40 points), Marching (40 points), and General Effect (20 points). Ratings and ranking will be determined by the total points awarded by the three band judges as follows:

​

1st Division  80.00 – 100.00

2nd Division  60.00 –  79.99

3rd Division  40.00 –  59.99

4th Division 0.00 – 39.99

 

Bands may also perform for comments only.  Please check the box on the entry form.

 

There are judges and awards for Drum Major, Percussion, and Color Guard. These are separate captions and do not affect your band’s performance score for ratings and ranking.

 

Awards: 1st and 2nd division trophies for color guard, percussion, drum major, and bands; trophies for Outstanding Color Guard, Percussion, Drum Major, and Soloist; High Music Score, High Marching Score, and High Overall Effect Certificates; 1st Place Junior High Division Band, 3rd Place Championship Division Band, Runner-Up Championship Division Band, and overall Grand Champion. 

 

The registration deadline is Friday, September 20th, and the registration fee of $180 must be paid before your performance.
